The main ingredient is Jaggery along with cut mangoes and mustard seed powder and mustard oil and this pickle would taste sour, sweet and spicy at the same time, which is liked by quite a number of people.Due to the addition of jaggery as the sweet inducing ingredient, color of Bellam Avakaya pickle turns to a deep brown. Bellam Avakaya pickle can be used as a multi purpose pickle for eating with rice or with a snack like vada or bajji just like ginger pickle and it tastes best with parathas, roti, idli, dosa, upma and rice.
